Unjust condemnation cannot override truth or divine favor. If you are walking with integrity, unfair criticism may flutter around you or make noise, but it cannot permanently attach itself to you.

(NKJV) "Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight"  OR (NIV) "Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest."

Application:

This proverb means that baseless insults, gossip, or malicious wishes spoken against an innocent person have no real power and will ultimately miss their target.  Proverbs 26:2 teaches that an undeserved curse is like a wandering bird—it flutters around but cannot find a place to land. Apply this to your life by letting go of baseless criticism and gossip. Anchor your identity in God’s truth, knowing malicious words have no power when you walk in integrity.
